David's S Story
I earned my seminary degree from Southwestern and served as a Southern Baptist youth pastor/music minister for several years. However, my marriage was not a good one. I eventually left full-time vocational ministry after some years but kept serving in volunteer capacities. When my marriage deteriorated further into divorce, I was left broken. I bounced from place to place, hurting so badly, and not being able to be active anywhere. It seems everywhere I went I felt alone in a room full of people.
I finally found a place where God's people were genuine, warm and caring. My healing began and continues on today. I love it when I hear how we are all "sinners" and in need of God. I lived it. Even as one who has a seminary degree, I have experienced being at the bottom and needing God's hand of grace.
